Today we’d like to introduce you to Roger Wesley

Hi Roger, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Moving to Phoenix from Louisiana in 2018, I didn’t know anyone and I was a single parent. I had no network, and very few resources to deploy to help me succeed. The first 90 days were the toughest. I was a victim of Domestic Violence. I became homeless. I broke a bone in my hand and couldn’t afford to have surgery. On top of all of that, I was going through a legal battle for custody of my daughter. That was only the beginning.

Through several months of 60-70 hour weeks doing temp, gig, and contract work I was finally able to secure an apartment. From there I started networking heavily and got connected with successful business owners, who opened doors for me to become an entrepreneur. After 3 years of building that business, I was able to triple my income through door to door sales. In 6 weeks I earned $40,000 and started building a sales team. After about a year I left the door to door industry and had an opportunity to work in tech sales. After crushing quotas and being offered multiple promotions, I took my talents back to the sales world and founded Inspire 2 Excell with my Wife, which is the current business that we own and operate.

We help local businesses increase performance by shifting from a culture of “me to we,” as culture will eat a “good” vision alive. We are in the process of scaling our company to help more businesses experience the effects of high employee engagement, increased sales quotas, and increased revenue year over year.

Another very impactful arm of our business has been the ability to be a Keynote Speaker and speak to companies on these similar topics to help them succeed by shifting their culture to a focus of we instead of me so they can increase their performance. I’ve spoken over a 100 times to companies with annual revenues ranging from about fifty thousand to almost 1 billion dollars.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been far from smooth, and has been full of challenges at every turn. I was a single parent for 4 years while building my first business, and there were nights where I didn’t eat so that my daughter could have a hot meal. I was over drafting my bank account on a weekly basis, and had a $25 monthly food budget for almost a year. Many people find that hard to believe, but I was very efficient. There are several food banks here in the Phoenix Valley that I’d get food from. There are discount grocery stores here that sell expired food. I didn’t eat out at all during that time period. The success of my daughter and her future depended on it.

Once I was able to graciously find my way out of that situation, eventually I got married to another single parent and my responsibilities doubled. Since then my Wife and I have had 2 more children, and have continued to Excell in business and life by staying single minded and focused on building successful organizations. Our Family, and our Business in that order. These things would not have been possible without our strong Faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As you know, we’re big fans of Inspire 2 Excell. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Inspire 2 Excell exists to help businesses thrive by increasing their performance and revenue. We work with the business owners to understand their business model and drivers, then we create a plan of action tailored to them and their company so they can increase the performance of their employees and revenue overall. The businesses we have helped have increased their revenue by double and triple digits as a result of working with us, and some have retained Inspire 2 Excell for long term contracts to continually optimize their employee engagement so that they can focus on the things that only business owners can focus on; the vision of the company and what’s next.

As a company we’re most proud of the relationships that we form with our clients. We’ve been blessed to create some long lasting and enriching connections that have significantly contributed to our success. We’re in the people business and we love seeing others succeed, because we know that their success is our success.

As a professional speaker (Roger Wesley), I truly enjoy the conversations I get to have after coming off of stage. Connecting with those that were encouraged and inspired by the messages that I’ve shared with them. I speak on the topics of sales, leadership, and overcoming significant obstacles to achieve success. I am available for speaking engagements across the state, nation, and internationally.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The coaching industry is exploding right now and it’s because people are seeing the value in borrowing experience from others, so they can speed up time. What I mean by that is having a mentor allows one to better see the road blocks ahead of them, and avoid them before they happen. So often people find themselves not being able to see the forest because there are trees directly in front of their face. Having a coach to guide you through that forest is a tremendous value that can save you time, and money.

As a professional speaker, the need is significant. AI can’t stand on stage and deliver a life changing speech that will inspire generations to come, because as a robot it would not be able to relate to the human experience. Being in other people’s lives is the key. Through connecting and taking a genuine interest in how to help others, tremendous value can be added to the marketplace, and dare I say, change the world.
